Peter Chang is One of 9 South Bay Teens Who Make a Meaningful Impact Both Within and Beyond Their Communities
A soccer player since the age of 3, Peter Chang played at different levels before his arrival on the Palos Verdes Peninsula High School team. When close family friends moved to Africa several years ago, Peter heard stories of Kenyan children playing soccer barefoot or with flip-flops using a ball made from plastic bags tied with string. During the pandemic, friends Peter Chang, and Stuart Niessen organized a youth soccer tournament in Kenya.

The idea for the tournament stemmed from Chang wanting to undertake a service project and his passion for growing the game of soccer.
